Welcome to the World Cat Congress

The World Cat Congress was established to promote better understanding and co-operation among the world's major cat associations in matters of mutual interest and concern such as cat legislation and feline welfare which affects all cat lovers, from the pedigree breeder to the pet owner.

Here you will find the following:

  • An introduction to the World Cat Congress
  • Our purpose and aim
  • Details of the Member Organisations
  • Details of the Governing Body and its officers
  • The World Cat Congress Constitution
  • Reports on annual World Cat Congress meetings
  • Items of general interest
  • Minutes of World Cat Congress Meetings
  • Links to member organisations and general interest sites

We hope you will find the site interesting and informative, if you have any comments, please address these to our secretary.

A facelift for the site (and not only)

The website has undergone a major graphics revision, but the work doesn't stop here. The same basic structure of the former site has been retained—as has the information—but major additions are in the works: news from the WCC members is already online and the first of the breed comparisons is now up, these are breeds beginning with the the letter "A." The table highlights the differences between the member organisations in the breed's recognition status, breeding practices, nomenclature and, in some cases, name.. Plus regular additions regarding the health and well-being of our cats will be also posted.
